The 4th Triennial conference of the State Bank of India Officers Association, Kerala Circle, has concluded here with a call to protect the hard-earned rights of the officers' community.
Speaking at the business session, the National Secretary of both AISBOF and AIBOC, Mr G.D. Nadaf, said that the days to come are more challenging due to the economic reforms, which are detrimental to the country.
He wanted the officers to be ready to implement any agitation call given by the leadership to protect their rights.
The conference also passed a resolution on disproportionate punishments awarded to officers, compassionate appointments, regulated working hours, economic reforms, anti-labour policies, problems relating to education loans, single-officer branches, and so on.
The two-day conference was inaugurated by Dr Sebastian Paul, former Member of Parliament.
He said that the bank officers' trade union has immense responsibility in the present scenario, in the backdrop of the neo-economic policies of the Government.
Labour laws
The attempt to change the labour laws to suit the neo-liberal policies has to be resisted, he added.
Mr B.S. Bhasin, Chief General Manager, SBI, in his key-note address, expressed satisfaction over the vital role played by the SBIOA-Kerala Circle in the overall development of the bank.
Mr T.N. Goel, National President, AISBOF, released a booklet on the service conditions of State Bank of India Officers, during the occasion.
