A conference of chief vigilance officers of the South-based public sector banks stressed the need for sharing information relating to vigilance cases in banks.
State Bank of Travancore hosted the meeting on Saturday, a bank spokesman said here.
Among those represented were Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Syndicate Bank, Vijaya Bank, Andhra Bank, Corporation Bank, Canara Bank, and State Bank of India.
Mr P. Nandakumaran, managing director, State Bank of Travancore (SBT), inaugurated the conference.
Among those present on the occasion from SBT were Mr S. Hari Krishnan, general manager and chief vigilance officer; Mr M. C. Jacob and Mr Sajeev Krishnan, chief general managers; Mr V. Kannan Kutty, general manager – technology and inspection; and Ms Chandrasekharan, general manager-treasury and chief financial officer.
Chief vigilance officers of nine banks attended the meeting, the spokesman added. The meeting exchanged views on various practices of vigilance mechanism. Participating banks agreed to adopt preventive vigilance measures.
The forum agreed upon the necessity for sharing the information related to vigilance cases among banks.
