UCO Bank aims to ramp up ATM network

UCO Bank plans to ramp up its ATM network to 3,000 machines by end March 2013 from the current level of 681, a top official of the bank has said. The bank wants to expand its ATM network to 1,500 by the end of the current fiscal.

It is also betting on its recently launched ‘Total Freedom' campaign to grow its CASA share in total deposits from 24 per cent to around 35 per cent by end March 2012. The bank's CASA deposits currently stand at about Rs 28,000 crore.

“We are targeting 25 lakh accountholders under the ‘Total Freedom' campaign,” Mr S. Rajaram, Field General Manager, UCO Bank, told newspersons.

On the branch network front, UCO bank currently has 2,239 branches, which it plans to enhance to 3,000 by March 2013 and 4,000 by 2016.

On new product launches for North India, Mr Rajaram said that UCO bank has recently started providing loans against gold jewellery. There is certainly demand for loans against gold jewellery in the North as well, bank officials said.
