With customers troubled by snags in its new mobile banking application (app), private sector lender HDFC Bank has decided to restore the old app by Tuesday-end.
“This is to prevent inconvenience to customers. It will be available for download and use by 5pm on December 4,” said HDFC Bank on Monday, adding that it will be available both on Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
“The new app, since it is taking us longer to fix than anticipated, is being pulled down from the App Store and Play Store till further notice,” it further said.
HDFC Bank had, on November 27, launched the next-gen mobile banking app, which had features such as biometric log-in with fingerprint and facial recognition for iPhone X users.
However, on November 29, the bank apologised for the inconvenience that many users faced in logging onto the new app.
Sources said the bank’s technical team is still trying to identify the problem, but it could have possibly been due to high traffic, leading to some kind of a snag.
