Amendment to the SARFAESI Act will be helpful to the banks, said Rakesh Sharma, MD & CEO, Canara Bank.
Reacting to the Union Budget 2017- 2018, Sharma said “Thrust on digitalisation would encourage banks to step up their technological and automation drive.”
Fiscal deficit for 2017-18 was pegged at 3.2 per cent and for the next three years at 3 per cent is good and would be reassuring both in India and abroad.
The Budget gives a welcome thrust to agriculture, rural development, housing and infrastructure and would promote both economic growth and distributive equity.
Several measures focused on agriculture would bring about a more equitable pattern of economy.
