The RBI has approved the re-appointment of Ananthakrishna as part-time Chairman of Karnataka Bank for three years. A bank release said here that the board of directors had proposed his re-appointment. He had assumed office as the non-executive part-time Chairman on July 13, 2009, for the first term of three years.

Till then, he was the full-time Chairman of the bank for nine years.
