To mark the completion of 90 years of operations, Andhra Bank on Wednesday opened 90 next generation branches across states.

These branches will have complete automatic machines in the front desk and facilitate routine business transactions round-the-clock. The roles of the staff are also redefined to cater to the different requirements of customers to help speedy transactions.

Speaking after formally e-launching the branches from here, Executive Director, K.K. Misra, said transforming 90 branches into next generation ones while the bank was entering 91st year of operations was a result of teamwork.

Later while speaking to newspersons, S.K. Karla, Executive Director, said the bank’s experience in two pilot next generation branches launched in Hyderabad in April this year was encouraging.

“We wish to expand this business transformation under an initiative called ‘Nava Shakti’  and have 250 next generation branches by the end of this financial year either by converting existing ones and opening new branches,’’ he added.
