The second edition of the ’cyclothon’ was organised today in Bhubaneswar with an objective to build awareness among people on preventing and reporting cyber crimes.
Organised by the Axis Bank in association with the Bhubaneswar Cyclist & Adventure Club (BCAC), the event was attended by around 400 cyclists across all ages.
The event was flagged off by P K Jena, Regional Director of RBI and Sunil Gurbaxani, Regional Branch Banking Head — East of Axis Bank at the Nehru Club ground.
According to a release by the Axis Bank, Gurbaxani said, “With the rising acceptance of digital technology, it is important to educate the public on preventive measures against cyber threats. An innovative event like the Cyclothon will help us to bring together people from different walks of life on a common platform to spread awareness about cyber security.”
Earlier this year, the police here had undertaken an initiative to train officers from various parts of the state on seizure and collection of digital evidence, investigation in social networking sites, ATM and credit card fraud and setting up a dedicated Cyber Police station, it said.
