Call rate edges up on mild demand

Call rates edged up to end at 6.90 per cent at the overnight call money market here on Monday due to mild demand from borrowing banks, The overnight call money rate finished slightly higher at 6.90 per cent from last Friday's closing level of 6.85 per cent. It moved in a wide range of 6.90 per cent and 6.25 per cent. The RBI, under the LAF, purchased securities worth Rs 4,295 crore from 10 bids at the one-day repo auction at a fixed rate of 6.75 per cent.
