Banks should get into ‘camp mode’ under their financial inclusion drive so that vast sections of the population can open basic savings bank deposit accounts, said Reserve Bank of India Deputy Governor K. C. Chakrabarty. Further, banks should take the help of local non-government organisations and State government agencies to get groups of people to such camps and also to ensure that the central bank’s instructions on know-your-customer /anti-money laundering for opening of bank accounts are adhered to.
