With cash flying off banks’ counters and ATMs within minutes, Canara Bank has brought relief to thousands of stranded customers by introducing mobile ATMs.
Speaking about the initiative, Chiniwar, General Manager, Canara Bank, said, “Keeping in mind our rural customers, who too are facing cash crunch, we have dispersed one mobile ATM to the rural districts of Karnataka. In a week’s time, we are looking to launch few more vans that will be exclusively targeted at the people in the tier II cities where there are no ATMs.”
"According to the volume of transactions, the amount is reloaded once or twice a day. As of now, we see average number of transactions of about 700 to 800 and it is operational till 8.30 pm or till the cash gets exhausted,'' he said.
