Canara Bank shareholders have approved the bank’s proposal to raise ₹2,000 crore. The bank plans to raise capital via issue of equity/preference shares or other securities either by way of follow-on public issue, rights issue, private placement or qualified institutional placement. Meanwhile, the RBI has imposed a penalty of ₹2 crore on the bank for violation of anti-money laundering norms.
