The RBI on Friday said customer charges, if any, being levied on cash withdrawal transactions at point-of-sale (PoS) terminals at merchant establishments has been waived till December 30, 2016.
Further, the limit for cash withdrawal at POS has been made uniform at to ₹2,000 per day across all centres for all merchant establishments enabled for this facility.
So far, one could make cash withdrawals at POS terminals up to ₹1,000 in Tier I to II centres and up to ₹2,000 in Tier III to VI centres.
On November 14, the RBI announced that banks will waive levy of ATM charges for all transactions by saving bank customers done at all ATMs, irrespective of the number of transactions during the month, from November 10 till December 30 subject to review.
