Four persons including an HSBC Bank customer support executive in Madhapur here were arrested in Monday in connection with cloning and duplication of credit and debit cards, the police said.
Syed Jaber alias Rehan, the key person involved in the in the case, along with two cashiers, a helper working in petrol bunks, as well a Nigerian identified as “Omorye”, who is absconding, allegedly cloned and swiped credit and debit cards and illegally made around Rs 10 lakh over the past six months, the police said.
Syed Jaber, who works at the HSBC Bank call centre and has knowledge about credit and debit cards, had done a course in hacking.
He came in contact with the Nigerian through the Internet and learned many tricks from him, a senior police officer of Central Crime Station’s (CCS) detective department said.
The police nabbed Syed Jaber, besides three others and seized 150 unused credit and debit cards from them which have over Rs 25 lakh in their accounts.
