The Corporation Bank is expanding its branch network by adding 200 branches during the current financial year, according to Mr Ramnath Pradeep, Chairman and Managing Director.
He was talking to reporters here on Monday after earlier inaugurating the 25th annual conference of the All-India Corporation Bank SC/ST Employees' Welfare Association.
Business volume
Mr Pradeep said the bank had at present a network of 1,361 branches across the country, with the business volume crossing Rs 2,00,000 crore.
He said it might cross the Rs 2,65,000-crore mark by the end of the current financial year.
In the next five years or so, the bank has the ambitious target of crossing the Rs 5,00,000-crore mark, he added.
Overseas presence
Mr Pradeep said the bank was planning to open branches in Hong Kong, Tanzania, Nepal and Vietnam.
In Andhra Pradesh, he said the bank had 113 branches and its business volume touched the Rs 10,000-crore mark. It had set itself the target of doubling it.
Earlier, in the conference, he exhorted the employees to strive hard for strengthening the bank.
Mr R. Muthuswamy, Association President, Mr Gurmeet Singh, Secretary, and Mr T. Kantaiah, Convenor, also spoke.
