DBS Bank on Tuesday inaugurated its first branch in Ahmedabad with a focus on catering to the needs of Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs), corporate and retail.
The foreign bank is aggressively increasing its presence in the state and nationally too with eight more branches planned for Vadodara, Mumbai, Gurugram, Noida, Hyderabad, Coimbatore, Indore and Ludhiana by end of this month.
"So far we have been mostly catering to the large corporate finance. We now plan to increase our presence in SMEs with our digital offerings and a superior banking experience for small businesses. Our target is to establish over 100 touch points across 25 cities," said Pranav Chawda, Managing Director (MD), Institutional Banking Group, DBS India.
