Dena Bank is planning to open at least 12 branches in West Bengal this fiscal.
Having majority of its penetration in the West, mainly in Maharashtra and Gujarat, the PSU bank operates 38 branches in the State. Of the total, 28 branches are located in Kolkata.
“We hope to add 12-13 branches in West Bengal by the end of this fiscal,” Ashwani Kumar, Chairman and Managing Director, Dena Bank, told reporters here on Monday on the sidelines of FICCI’s 10th annual banking conclave.
Kumar added that the bank would take a host of initiatives to boost its business in the retail segment.
“We are expecting nearly 18 per cent growth from the retail segment this fiscal against the current 6 per cent growth. Retail asset hubs and processing hubs are being set up in various locations,” he said.
According to him, Dena Bank will also replicate the housing loan fair held in Gujarat to other states.
