Dena Bank reported a net loss of ₹380 crore in the third quarter ended December 31, 2017, due to a sharp jump in loan-loss provisions and decline in other income.
The public sector bank had reported a net profit of ₹35 crore in the year-ago quarter.
Net interest income nudged up 5 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y) to ₹700 crore (₹666 crore in the year-ago period). Other income was down 47 per cent to ₹216 crore (₹409 crore).
Provisions towards loan losses jumped to ₹1,044 crore (₹427 crore).
As on December-end 2017, gross non-performing assets (GNPAs) increased to 19.56 per cent of gross advances, against 17.23 per cent as on September-end 2017.
