Following most banks, private sector lender Development Credit Bank (DCB) increased its base rate by 35 basis points to 10.85 per cent from 10.50 per cent earlier.
The base rate is the minimum interest rate below which banks do not lend. A basis point is one hundredth of a percentage point.
The revised rate will be effective from September 1, 2013.
