Officers of Dhanlaxmi Bank are on an indefinite strike demanding reinstatement of Mohanan, General-Secretary, Dhanlaxmi Bank Officers’ Association. The officer was given the pink slip a fortnight back, six months ahead of his retirement.
Expressing shock and dismay over the bank management’s action, Vijayasenan, Secretary, Tamil Nadu State Federation, All India Bank Officers’ Confederation, said that around 50 officers took part in the strike (the second in the last 10 days) in Chennai on Monday.
“We will intensify our stir if the bank management does not heed to our demand. The bank has invoked Service Regulation 14(1) to sack the officer, without giving any explanation,” he said, adding “we condemn the anti-trade union stance of the management.”
