The Centre has written to the State Governments seeking the latter's views on the FSLRC report and the proposed Indian Financial Code, a Finance Ministry official has said.

This is part of the four steps taken by the Finance Ministry post the submission of the Financial Sector Legislative Reforms Commission (FSLRC) report.

A FSLRC cell has now been set up within the Finance Ministry to look into the FSLRC report and take it forward.

Besides writing to the regulators in the financial sector, the FSLRC cell has also written to all the ministries in the central government seeking their views on the report, a Finance Ministry official said.

The FSLRC report has been published on the Finance Ministry's website.

Comments and suggestions of all stakeholders/public have also been invited by July 15.

Budget 2011-12 had proposed the setting up of FSLRC to revamp financial sector laws to bring them in line with the requirements and expectations of the sector.

The FSLRC had submitted its report to the Finance Minister, P. Chidambaram, in March this year.
