The All-India Bank Employees Association has urged public sector banks to give easy customer loans to those affected by the Chennai floods.
AIBEA Chairman CH Venkatachalam, in a message to the Chairman of the Indian Banks Association, pointed out that the floods in Chennai and neighbouring districts had left a lot of people without their domestic possessions.
He wanted banks to come to their help by offering special retail consumer loans on personal surety and salary documents.
