IIM-Kozhikode hosted 30 Executive Directors and CEOs of leading nationalised banks for an orientation programme on leadership.
The three-day workshop was conducted by Debashis Chatterjee, Director, IIMK along with his colleagues from the Institute.
Rajiv Takru, Secretary in charge of banking in the Finance Ministry, also taught at the leadership clinic.
The objective of the leadership clinic was not to teach banking to the bank veterans with 30-35 years of experience, but enabling them with alternative dimensions of leadership and how these leadership qualities can be put to better use.
The Director, IIMK, said that this workshop assumes immense significance in view of the crisis faced by the banking industry and the rest of the world. “Our aspiration through this workshop was to sensitise the captains of the banking industry about the role of human values and professional ethics in the financial service sector,” he said.
IIMK plans to have a follow-up session of this leadership clinic workshop soon.
