Karnataka Bank Ltd has integrated its education loan scheme with the Vidya Lakshmi portal of the Government and made it available to public with effect from July 23.
Mahabaleshwara MS, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the bank, said that this is yet another pro-active step taken by the bank in facilitating timely credit to youth in realising their educational aspirations. The bank will be coming out with more such initiatives in the days to come.
Vidya Lakshmi portal is an initiative of the Department of Financial Services of the Union Ministry of Finance, Department of Higher Education of the Union Ministry of Human Resource Development, and Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) for students seeking education loan, wherein students can apply, view and track the status of their education loan application anytime, anywhere by accessing the portal.
The portal has been developed and maintained by NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Ltd.
