Karnataka Bank Ltd has signed an agreement with Bartronics India Ltd to hasten the process of providing banking services in remote villages under its financial inclusion plan.
A bank release said here on Friday that the Managing Director of the bank, Mr P. Jayarama Bhat, and the Chief Executive Officer of Bartronics India Ltd, Mr K. Umesh, signed the agreement in Bangalore on Friday.
The bank is already providing financial inclusion services through another service provider, Integra Microsystems (P) Ltd, and this is the second such tie-up arrangement for end-to-end financial inclusion solution.
Under its financial inclusion plan, the bank is planning to provide banking services to more than 2.3 lakh beneficiaries in 80 villages in Karnataka and other States. Of the 80 villages, 43 will be covered by March 31, 2011, and the rest by March 31, 2012, the release said.
