Karnataka Bank is planning to open around 5 lakh CASA (current accounts savings accounts) by February 28. In this regard, the bank launched a special CASA campaign on Thursday.
A bank release said here on Thursday that under this nationwide campaign from November 15 to February 28, the bank intends to open more than 5 lakh CASA by undertaking door-to-door canvassing by its entire work force.
At present, the bank has more than 45 lakh accounts under the CASA category. The bank is aiming to achieve a CASA customer base of 50 lakh by March 2013, it said.
The bank will extend free-of-charge add-on facilities such as international VISA debit card, Internet banking and mobile banking facilities to CASA customers, it said.
P. Jayarama Bhat, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, inaugurated the CASA campaign. General Managers, P. Jairam Hande, M.V.C.S. Karanth and Meera Aranha, were present on the occasion, the release added.
