The Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam, Prof Rajan Gurukkal, will open the new office of the campus branch of State Bank of Travancore (SBT) at Kottayam on Tuesday.
The new building will feature all modern banking facilities and an internet kiosk for the benefit of students, faculty and staff of MG University. At present, the branch has 4,000 accounts and commands a business of Rs 180 crore, a university spokesman said. Mr P. Pradeep Kumar, Managing Director, SBT will preside over the inaugural function.
