The next common written examination for recruitment of probationary officers/management trainees in 19 public sector banks will be held on June 17 (tentative).
The exams will be conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection. The online registration and online payment of application fee is to be done between March 9 and March 30.
This will be the second common exam for probationary officers. The first exam was conducted in September last year. Nearly 1.12 lakh candidates passed the first exam from over 10 lakh candidates. Thirty six per cent of the successful candidates were women.
Since the announcement of the results of the first exam over 12,000 officers’ jobs have been advertised by public sector banks. A few private banks are expected to join this scheme shortly.
The scores provided by IBPS for the common written exam will be valid for a year and successful candidates can apply to any bank of their choice based on these scores.
Candidates who have qualified in the previous common exam are also permitted to apply, if they wish to improve their scores or keep their scores valid for a further period of one year from the date of issuance of the score cards.
