Raheja QBE General Insurance Co. Ltd is to begin operations from Ahmedabad from Tuesday. The Mumbai-headquartered general insurer has been operating in the southern markets with offices in Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore. With the formal launch at Ahmedabad, its western hub including Mumbai & Pune is fully operational. Delhi & NCR Branch has been operational since last summer.
Raheja QBE, India’s 21st general insurance company, is unique in its approach in that it has products only in niche segments. Adopting a ‘blue ocean strategy’, the company offers products such as Directors & Officer; Combined General Liability; Professional Indemnities for Hospitals, Educational Institutions, doctors, accountants, architects, engineers, and construction companies, media liability; clinical trials; multi modal transport; standalone terrorism, over and above the terrorism pool.
The immediate focus in Gujarat would be on the bio-pharma space, where Raheja QBE will introduce from its foreign partner QBE’s UK centre of excellence, says a press release from the company.
