State Bank of India Chairperson Arundhati Bhattacharya on Tuesday said four drivers are changing the banking landscape in India.
These are regulatory changes, technology, competition and financial inclusion.
She was delivering the Assocham Foundation Day lecture in the capital.
New methods
Banking, she said, has got completely transformed in India in the last fifteen years, thanks to technology and increased adoption of new methodologies. .
"Indian Banking is undergoing huge upheaval," she said, adding that an empowering kind of change is happening.
100 digital branches
SBI, which has been at forefront of technology adoption, will this year open 100 new digital branches, she said.
SBI will also Thursday launch private wealth management business at Bangalore.
