SBI General Insurance Company Ltd has appointed Mr Bhaskar Jyoti Sarma as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer for three years.
The appointment will be effective August 1, 2012.
With 32 years of experience, Mr Sarma has taken over from Mr R.R. Belle, the incumbent MD and CEO, who completed his term on July 31.
Prior to his appointment as MD and CEO of SBI General, he held the position of General Manager at the bank’s North Eastern Circle at Guwahati.
Mr Sarma had joined SBI in 1979 as a probationary officer.
