State Bank of India is recruiting 8,500 clerks and 1,000 stenographers across the country.
Total emoluments for these posts in a metro such as Mumbai would be Rs 14,177 a month. The bank has mentioned that the 8,500 posts would include 3,100 vacancies advertised in end-December 2011.
It is also postponing the exam scheduled on March 18 to May 27 and June 3.
The bank has specified that candidates with 60 per cent in their 12th standard exam or a graduation degree are eligible to apply. State-wise and category-wise vacancies are mentioned in the detailed advertisement and on the SBI Web site. Candidates can apply for vacancies in one State only.
The minimum age requirement is 18 years while the maximum is 28 years. Applications have been invited online and are open from March 5 to March 26.
