The State Bank Group is on a massive recruitment drive at the clerical cadre level.
After State Bank of India undertook a recruitment exercise to fill about 5,500 vacancies at the clerical level in July/ August 2014, its five associate banks have now jointly advertised vacancies for 7,644 clerical positions.
Like all public sector banks, the State Bank Group too is faced with the twin challenges of finding replacement for employees who are superannuating and the need to have people to man the expanding branch network.
Of the total vacancies, including reservation for persons with disability and ex-servicemen, State Bank of Hyderabad will recruit the maximum number: 2,556.
State Bank of Patiala has advertised vacancies for 1,541 clerical positions; State Bank of Travancore (1,527); State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur (1,188) and State Bank of Mysore (852).
Online registration of applications for the recruitment began on November 20 and ends on December 9. The recruitment examination will be conducted online tentatively in January/ February 2015.
Candidates can apply for vacancies in one bank and one State only and will have to appear for the test from an examination centre for that particular State.
Further, as per the details of the recruitment process, candidates can appear for the test only once under this recruitment project.
The total starting emoluments of a clerical cadre employee payable at a metro like Mumbai will be around Rs 17,500 per month, inclusive of dearness allowance and other allowances at the current rate.
