Sudipta Sen sent to judicial custody till May 31

Sudipta Sen, Chairman and Managing Director of the Saradha Group, was sent to judicial custody on Saturday by the Bidhannagar Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate’s court.

He was remanded to judicial custody in three separate cases of fraud, cheating and non-payment of salary amongst others, till May 22, May 23 and May 31, respectively.

The court, meanwhile, rejected the bail petition by Sen and another co-accused, Arvind Singh Chauhan. Debjani Mukherjee, the Group’s director and a co-accused, has yet to be presented before the court.

Earlier, the Bidhannagar police had remanded Sen and the other co-accused for 14 days.
