Banking services, especially in the public sector, are likely to be affected across the country as trade unions in the sector will be joining central trade unions in observing a two-day strike on February 20th and 21st.
The strike call has been given by 11 central trade unions including the Indian National Trade Union Congress, All India Trade Union Congress, Hind Mazdoor Sabha, Centre of Indian Trade Unions to protest against price rise, corruption, lack of employment opportunities and divestment of public sector undertakings.
About 10 lakh bank employees and officers working in public sector banks, regional rural banks, old private banks, and co-operative banks across the country will be joining the strike, said a All India Bank Employees Association statement.
