The All India Bank Officers Confederation (AIBOC) is seeking RBI’s intervention for revocation of the ‘unlawful’ termination of PV Mohanan, employee of Dhanlaxmi Bank and trade unionist.
The Aiboc will hold a march and a dharna in front of the RBI office here on Thursday, demanding reinstatement of Mohanan, formerly general-secretary of Dhanlaxmi Bank Officers Organisation.
He was terminated June 11 last year ‘without assigning any reason or issuing notice’ but by invoking what the Aiboc said was an archaic clause in service regulations.
A series of strikes launched last year was called off as per the understanding reached with the bank management and the Aiboc in the presence of the home minister.
The termination was temporarily frozen and a more acceptable solution should have been reached through negotiations. But the bank has not responded positively to initiatives for bilateral talks since.
