The Indian movie industry had a blockbuster September quarter in 2023, with franchise-based movies performing well at the box office.

Franchise-based movies contributed nearly 25% to the total gross box office collection during the quarter. The four franchise-based movies that were released were Gadar-2, Oh My God 2, Dream Girl 2, and Carry On Jatta 3. All four of them were successful at the box office, with Gadar-2 and Oh My God 2 being the top grossers.

Some regional languagemovies, Hindi movies, and Hollywood movies also performed well. With a strong content of movies in the pipeline for release, the Indian audience is expecting another stellar performance at the box office.
