Recently a number of companies and their brands have been forced to drop or modify their advertisements after online backlash. For example, Dabur was forced to drop an advertisement for one of its bleach products which was promoted by a same-sex couple celebrating Karva Chauth. The company is not alone. A number of other players like CEAT Tyres, Fabindia, Tanishq, Manyavar and others have also faced similar backlash.
