Prime Minister Narendra Modi said he was keen that the ₹27,000 crore lying unclaimed in PF (provident fund) accounts is given back to their claimants. Launching the reform initiatives under the ‘Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Shramev Jayate Karyakram’ here, he said that if mobile phone subscribers get connectivity everywhere they go, why can’t the migrating labour force continue to get PF benefits. “I have to give back this money to the poor. This ₹27,000 crore belongs to the poor,” he declared.
On simplify the processes for doing business, Modi said ease of doing business “is the first and foremost requirement if ‘Make in India’ has to be made successful.”
