Fourteen peacocks died here after they consumed poison mixed paddy grains, officials said today.
The peacocks were found dead near a government school last evening. A post-mortem of the national bird revealed that the peacocks had taken poison mixed grains, they said.
Police said they were investigating the angle of poisoning to prevent the birds from damaging paddy fields in the area.
