The Ministry of External Affairs today confirmed that 40 Indian workers in Iraq have been abducted by ISIL.
The ministry said that the nationals are largely from North India and were working with a construction company in Iraq. Till now no ransom note has been received by the officials.
According to the MEA, there are around 100 Indians who are at different places in Iraq where the situation is tenuous and uncertain.
