Beverage brand 7Up has partnered with musician AR Rahman to launch ‘7Up Tamizh Naattin Kural’, a State-wide voice hunt.
The 7Up mobile recording studios will visit colleges and popular joints across 200 locations in Chennai, Coimbatore, Cuddalore, Erode, Madurai, Vellore, Kanchipuram, Nagercoil, Salem, Tiruvannamalai, Tiruchirappalli, Tripur, Tirunelveli, Thoothukkudi and Karaikudi to record entries and identify talents, according to a press release.
The top 20 contestants shortlisted from the entries received will be invited to Chennai to perform before a jury panel.
The seven best singers selected from the audition will train with Rahman’s team and perform at a live concert in January in Chennai to mark 25 years of AR Rahman’s music.
1-year scholarshipThe winner will be awarded one-year scholarship at the KM Music Conservatory run by Rahman.
Vipul Prakash, Senior Vice-President, Beverage Category, said in the press release that 7Up brand has already led refreshing campaigns to reach the youth through cricket, dance and drama and now music will join the list through ‘7Up Thamizh Naattin Kural’.
