81.4 crore people to cast votes in LS elections

About 81.4 crore registered voters will be able to cast their votes in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The latest figures revealed by the Election Commission show that the 28 States account for 98.27 per cent of the electors, while the seven Union Territories account for the remaining electorate.

Uttar Pradesh, with 13.43 crore electors, accounts for 16.49 per cent of the total electorate. It has the largest number of voters, while Sikkim with about 3.62 lakh voters has the smallest number of electors, the data released by the Commission on Wednesday showed.
