The United Forum of Bank Unions, which initiated a nationwide two-day strike early this week to press for a wage pact, will decide on its next course of action in the coming week. MV Murali, convenor of the nine-union UFBU, said that the unions will meet on February 19 to take stock of the post-strike situation and take a decision on the next form of agitation. He noted that the Indian Banks’ Association had ‘postponed’ the bilateral talks scheduled for February 13. He said UFBU hoped the IBA will hold another round of negotiations soon after the chairman of the IBA negotiating committee returned from a visit abroad.
