Govt dealing with corruption effectively: Sibal

Our Bureau Updated - November 23, 2017 at 10:38 PM.

Defending the UPA Government’s fight against corruption, Kapil Sibal, Minister for Communications and Information Technology and Law and Justice, said the country was dealing with the issue of corruption very effectively.

Addressing the 12th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas function here on Wednesday, Sibal said that in any society or Government anywhere in the world, there will be some corrupt elements.

“That does not mean that every Minister in the Government of India is corrupt. Nor does it mean that every bureaucrat is corrupt,” he said.

Sibal said in the recent past, several Ministers had been asked to resign without anything being proved against them, merely on the basis of allegations, adding that the Government had piloted a “very strong” Lokpal Bill in Parliament.
