Software firm Esri India has developed an app for yoga practitioners, Yogamplify, using GIS (Geographic Information System) technology.
The app helps yoga enthusiasts and practitioners locate the nearest yoga centre and take part in International Yoga Day events on June 21.
Agendra Kumar, President, Esri India said the application demonstrates the simplicity and accessibility of GIS technology. Yoga event organisers can use the app to list events and provide details. Practitioners and enthusiasts can share information with their contacts through social media to promote greater participation, a press release said.
