There will be no change in the investment plans of the British businesses in Andhra Pradesh even if the State is bifurcated, according to Andrew McAllister, Deputy High Commissioner, Hyderabad.
“Signs for the UK business here are stronger. Our investment plans continue to be the same and we will engage in whatever we are doing,’’ he told newspersons in response to a query here on Thursday.
Stating that there was no trailing of business investments in Andhra Pradesh, he said firms like Cadbury and Triumph were investing in the region.
To promote two-way investments between British companies and those in the State, the UK Trade & Investment will be organising a three-day event here christened as ‘Great Hyderabad’ from February 4, 2014.
“This is basically a showcase or marketing campaign to highlight the investment opportunities and need for tie-ups,’’ the British official said.
About a dozen British companies/brands, including Jaguar-Land Rover and Triumph, would be participating in the event.
The UK is keen on collaborating with Indian businesses in high-calibre research companies, pharma, infrastructure, environment, and advanced engineering sectors, McAllister added.
