Andhra Pradesh is to organise helicopter tourism and a number of entertainment facilities for visitors during the 12-day Godavari Maha Pushkaram 2015 celebrations to be held between July 14-25.

When people converge on various locations along the course of the Godavari river to take a holy dip, the Government proposes to host a sky lantern festival and a sand art festival on the banks, while also making it attractive with a chopper ride, covering all the Pushkaram Ghats in Rajahmundry.

The State Government, along with various agencies, including the tourism department, is also organising a mega food festival to enable people to relish the local food.

Coinciding with the event spread over 12 days, flower and horticulture shows are proposed apart from a laser show on Havelock Bridge at Rajahmundry. The laser show is being organised so that pilgrims can enjoy the show in the evenings from both sides of the river.

People can also share their experiences of the event by hashtagging their posts on Twitter or Facebook with #MahaPushkaram2015.
