Oscar winner A.R. Rahman is all set to debut as a film producer.
The music maestro’s Y.M. Movies has joined hands with BSE-listed Eros International Media to produce a Hindi feature film.
“For the first time Rahman has conceived the movie and written the basic story with the help of international and local talent. It is a young, sensual movie based on love, art and self-discovery,” Eros International said in a press statement.
Eros International has reported a 6.6 per cent fall in net profit for the first quarter ended June 30 owing to lower revenues from operations. Net profit stood at Rs 29.3 crore as against Rs 31.4 crore reported in the same quarter a year ago.
Revenue was down by 25.1 per cent at Rs 194.2 crore (Rs 259.3 crore).
