Ashok Leyland’s UK subsidiary Optare has won a significant bus order from Transport for London. Optare has bagged order for supplying 31 Optare Metrodecker EV double-decker buses, which will be bought by Metroline and will be added to London’s fleet by next summer, according to a statement. “Double-decker buses in London have been iconic and is a matter of prestige for the city. Optare, along with active involvement of Ashok Leyland engineering, has been at the forefront of e-mobility evolution and this order proves that it has the technology prowess that is expected from one of the most challenging markets like the UK,” said Vinod K Dasari, MD, Ashok Leyland.
